A podcast is a special feed which will
automatically download new audio recordings to your computer
as they become available. These are referred to as "podcast
episodes" and are nothing more than MP3 audio files.
Once you download an episode, you can either listen to it
on your computer or transfer it to an MP3 player to listen
anytime. You do not have to have an iPod to listen to podcasts.
The State of the State is a weekly television talk show on
Maine issues. MECEP makes audio version of the
weekly state of the state television available on this website
as MP3 files. These shows are bundled together as a podcast
which can be subscribed to. New shows are added to the podcast
after they air each week.
You can subscribe to the State of the State podcast using
programs such as iTunes or the Yahoo Music Engine.
Essentially, you need
to tell your program where the podcast feed is located which
is at
http://www.mecep.org/podcast.asp
. Once you have told your program where the feed is, it will
automatically download new episodes as are made available.
Below are instructions on how to subscribe to the podcast
in iTunes.
To Subscribe in iTunes:
- Open iTunes
- Select Menu > Advanced > Subscribe to Podcast
- Enter: http://www.mecep.org/podcast.asp
