This week’s State of the State show discusses a new national and statewide campaign to reduce poverty.
The Center for American Progress last year convened a diverse group of national experts and leaders to examine the causes and consequences of poverty in America and make recommendations for national action. Mark Greenberg, the executive director of this task force on poverty discusses their report titled “From Poverty to Prosperity: A National Strategy to Cut Poverty in Half.” Fen Fowler brings the issue to Maine by discussing the economic security and income equality issues facing Maine families today. Both were speakers at a statewide conference on November 5 in Augusta titled Maine Symposium on Poverty and Economic Security.
