Tax Reform Delivers Benefits to Maine Households
Tuesday April 20th, 2010
Dan Coyne, MECEP Fiscal Analyst

On June 8, 2010, Maine voters will vote on a "people's veto" which has put tax reform passed in June 2009 on hold.  A "no" vote would make the law effective on January 1, 2011.

While not perfect, the tax reform law will open the door to more far reaching reforms that will make Maine's tax system fairer, assure greater state revenue stability and encourage wider economic growth that benefits more Maine people.
