State of Working Maine in 2013

Workers in Maine and across the nation remain in crisis. The typical working Mainer has yet to find relief from a long-term economic malaise that began more than 30 years ago and the lingering effects of the Great Recession of 2007 to 2009.

Report containing MECEP’s analysis of statistical data related to Maine’s workforce, including employment, wages, and productivity. The report also addresses factors that influence this data including the demographics of the workforce, the effects of the shift to a more service-based “new economy,” and the impact advanced education and job training have on workers’ employment and income.
