When you give to MECEP, you power the research, communications, and advocacy necessary to advance economic justice and prosperity for all Maine people.
Ways to Give
Make a gift that will help lift people out of poverty. All donations are tax deductible.
Your gift of appreciated stock or securities will help reduce poverty and inequality and increase opportunities.
Include a gift as part of your estate and financial planning by adding MECEP to your will.
Donor Advised Funds
Make a grant to MECEP directly from your donor advised fund.
Donate by Mail
We are able to process and deposit mailed checks received at our offices. Our mailing address is:
Maine Center for Economic Policy
PO Box 437
Augusta ME 04332
If you prefer to wire or use direct deposit to make a gift, please contact Jody Harris by phone (207-620-1105) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) for instructions.
Many employers offer matching gift programs and will match charitable contributions made by their employees. Check with your employer to see if they will match your gift to MECEP. You may also make a donation by payroll deduction through MaineShare.
Using your IRA
If you are over 70 ½ years old, you may use the mandatory withdrawal amount – or a portion of the amount (up to $100,000) – from your IRA to make a charitable gift to MECEP.
Withdrawals contributed directly to MECEP do not count as taxable income for the year and could result in tax savings to you. Consult your tax advisor for more detail.
