As relief deal nears, Maine CDC says federal funding needed for equitable vaccine distribution

Shah also discussed vaccine equity and the Maine’s COVID-19 racial disparities earlier Wednesday during a meeting with the state’s Permanent Commission on the Status of Racial, Indigenous and Maine Tribal Populations. At that meeting, Shah said COVID-19 has had an “unacceptable” impact on people of color in Maine and acknowledged that the Maine CDC hasn’t done enough to narrow that disparity, James Myall, one of the members of the commission and a policy analyst with the Maine Center for Economic Policy, said on Twitter.
