Inflation leads to higher prices for tourists in Maine

“The expectation is that this is going to settle down over the coming months and years,” Maine Center for Economic Policy Tax and Budget Analyst Sarah Austin said. “So back to something that’s much more modest.”

Austin is also on Maine’s Consensus Economic Forecasting Commission.

“Our commission really looked at these things and forecasted that we would have a slightly elevated rate of inflation for the next few years. But particularly for the summer and this coming year,” Austin said.
