As artificial intelligence becomes more common in the workplace, a new report released by the Maine Center for Economic Policy examines how the technology could reshape Maine’s workforce and what the state can do to protect workers. “We’re at the beginning of understanding the impact that AI is going to have,” said James Myall, who authored the report. While the report raises questions about the future of employment, Myall said Maine already has experience addressing many of the economic challenges that could come with technological change. “We know how to fix some of these problems; it’s just a question of finding the will to do them,” Myall added.
