Report: 105,000 Mainers could lose health coverage if ACA is struck down

The nation’s highest court will have a 6-3 conservative majority if President Donald Trump’s nominee, 7th U.S. Circuit Court Judge Amy Coney Barrett, is confirmed. Her pending nomination is raising fears that the lawsuit may succeed in repealing the Obama-era health care legislation.

“If it succeeds, the ACA repeal lawsuit would throw the health care system into chaos in the middle of a pandemic and recession,” James Myall, policy analyst at the Maine Center for Economic Policy (MECEP), said in a statement Monday. “Tens of thousands of Mainers would lose health coverage when they need it most.”
